My Bio

Tara Prasad Gnyawali, 43 Years, resident of Nepal and working in an international enviornmental organization, WWF Nepal since last sixe years. I have been working in livelihoods field since last sixteen year. I worked for GTZ-Nepal, Hellen Keller Internaitonal Nepal, United Mission to Nepal, USAID funded projects and now recently working for WWF Nepal. Academically, I am social anthropologist and did MA degree in 1995 from Local university.

I am grown in one of the conflict affected rural area of Nepal where we saw even vehicle during 1980. There were no secondary school in my village. I had to go 10 mile far from my own village. where I lived in a villager's house and used to come back once a week on to re-fill my foods from home. I am from a small farmer family, just subsistence assets, no surplus, completely dependent on farm-labor. However,  I learned from my life that

Access to service,  Capacity to Access, network contact and Knowledge on contemporary Information are most crucial to enhance career and life. That's why I used to looking and suggest to other be informed your self and learn from network and share your views and life dignity, struggle and experience that make a vision how to survive even with a limited assets and enviornment.

I have developed Livelihoods Training Manual, Strategy, learning materials which still are in WWW.livelihood.org under NGO category. I want to share learn more from this forum. Though Climate Change is becoming crucial issues specially to us who are living in rural ara and entirely dependent on natural resources specially on land, water and forest have serious impact.

I grown up in local school, university so I have substantial practical learnings and experience but not strong on theoritically on issues such Climate Change, I am looking advance study opportunity (Ph D) abroad to integrate and innovate new approach where climate Change adaptation could be designe in an innovative and practical way with Sustainable Livelihoods Approach.

Based on my own working and learning experience, there a critical and vital role of "Asset Transformation" (from one type of asset transform to meet another type of asset to get Livelihoods OUtcomes and all poverty are trapped with it. All coping, access whatever you say are confined within this asset transformation capacity of rural people. This is my learning and of course I will get success to stablishe the link this practical learning with Theoritical outputs If I got advance study opportunity to abroad which righ now beyond my capacity.

I  would be very happy to do discussion, support  on Livelihoods, Climate Change Adaptation with any professional, professor, scientist, researchers, scholar, students in the networks and forum. Due to of job nature, I frequently go to long rigorous field in remote area where I have enven not email, phone contact but I do response as soon as my best. Thank you

Cheers
