CRiSTAL training workshops are conducted periodically in different regions around the world. The overall objectives of these training workshops are:
-
To provide participants with a framework for understanding vulnerability and adaptation to climate change; and
-
To enhance capacity to integrate climate change vulnerability and adaptation considerations into project design and management.
Specifically, the training workshops provide participants with an introduction to some of the basic concepts and approaches to climate change adaptation, its links to sustainable livelihoods and how they relate to the CRiSTAL process. Group work and practical application are strongly emphasized. Each of the training sessions are different, tailored to expressed needs and available resources.
Feedback from each of the training has gone on to shape subsequent workshops, and the training programme continues to evolve. There are plans to expand activities to North America, Asia and Latin America.

Funding for this workshop was provided by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
